Fabulous Farmers Markets

There are several farmers markets around Colorado with a plethora of local produce, plants, and goodies. I particularly like the Boulder Farmers Market (where I first sampled Justin’s amazing nut butter) and the Cherry Creek Farmers Market, because of the great selection. There is also the Highland Farmers Market, which is nice because it’s close to home! A few weekends ago, Chris played an acoustic set at our market while I shopped and sipped on an iced soy latte. It was quite nice.

Now… even though these are great and I am thankful to have so many markets in the area, nothing compares to the Farmers Market in Madison, Wisconsin. It is amazing… setup around the Capital Square every Saturday: nearly 200 area farmers, tons of fresh veggies, fruit, flowers, coffee, and sweets. I miss it.

The best part of any market is the ability to buy local and seasonal food at a great price while supporting community businesses. It doesn’t get much better than that! So, take an hour this weekend and hit up your local farmers market. Then, make a fabulous Sunday dinner with the goodies you found. Happiness all around!

I almost forgot… I have also been to the Missoula Farmers Market with Beth when we were traveling out West. That one was pretty sweet as well.
